Helidecks operating in sub-zero conditions need to be kept snow and ice free for safe helicopter landings and crew changes. Therefore we can equip the helideck landing circle, whole pancake or even the piping and access system with electrical heat tracing to prevent snow and ice building up.
Aluminium conducts heat better than any other common metal. It has about three times the thermal conductivity of steel. Self-regulating electrical heating cables are integrated in the aluminium planking profiles. The cables are routed to the junction boxes installed on the centre support beams of the helideck, therefore they can be accessible from the under deck gangway.
Winterisation by means of electrical heat tracing is not possible on steel helidecks.Terug naar Helipads »
