Application Administrator

ICT
Full-time
Nieuw-Lekkerland

Bayards is an internationally operating, specialist manufacturing company with a technically challenging and project driven environment. We design and produce high quality aluminium solutions for sectors including maritime, defence and offshore industries. Our processes are complex and rely heavily on strong application support. Within this environment, we are looking for an Application Administrator who will play a key role in managing, optimising and further developing our business applications. The focus lies on our ERP landscape, with Trimergo as a key system, but we are also open to candidates with experience in IFS, Dynamics 365 Business Central or comparable ERP solutions.

In this role, it’s not just about application management — it’s about understanding business processes, identifying bottlenecks and translating business needs into practical IT solutions. You act as the link between users, processes, suppliers and IT.

What will you be doing?

As an Application Administrator, you are responsible for the daily management and further development of our business applications. You work closely with key users, process owners, suppliers and colleagues within IT. You report to the IT Manager. Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing, supporting and improving our business applications, with a focus on ERP and process supporting systems.
  • Handling and coordinating 2nd line incidents, service requests and functional disruptions.
  • Analysing application issues and resolving them or escalating them appropriately to suppliers.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities in processes, configuration and application usage.
  • Translating business needs and bottlenecks into concrete and manageable IT solutions.
  • Coordinating changes, updates and releases, including impact analysis, testing and aftercare.
  • Supporting key users and end users with application usage, configuration and adoption.
  • Managing authorisations, workflows, templates, master data, metadata and functional settings where applicable.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation, work instructions and support materials.
  • Contributing to standardisation, maintainability and further professionalisation of the application landscape.
  • Supporting the IT team with application related questions and changes.
  • Contributing to integrations with Microsoft 365, such as Teams, SharePoint and Exchange Online.

Who are you?

You are a structured and communicative professional who understands how applications support business processes. You know how to uncover the question behind the question and switch effortlessly between users, suppliers and IT colleagues.

You are someone who doesn’t just look at the system, but also at the process behind it. You understand how information flows, where dependencies lie and how to translate a functional need into a workable configuration or change.

What do you bring?

  • Experience as an application administrator, functional administrator or in a similar role.
  • Experience with ERP systems or other business critical applications.
  • Experience supporting incidents, changes and releases within an IT operations environment.
  • The ability to understand, analyse and translate business processes into IT solutions.
  • Experience with stakeholder management and collaboration with users, key users and suppliers.
  • A structured and accurate working style, with attention to documentation, authorisations and maintainability.
  • Strong communication skills and a pragmatic mindset.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Trimergo, IFS, Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP solutions.
  • Experience in environments where processes relate to operations, finance, procurement or project administration.
  • Experience with integrations between applications or with applications within a broader Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Entra ID, Intune or PowerShell for application support and administration.

What do we offer you?

In this full time position, you will have the opportunity to play a visible role in managing and improving our business applications. You work directly with users and process owners, giving you real influence on how processes within the organisation are supported and improved.

You will join an IT team that is evolving, with room for initiative, structure and further professionalisation. You will have the opportunity to help build a future proof application landscape and actively contribute to improvements that add direct value to the organisation.

Working at Bayards means working in a dynamic, growing and specialised company. We follow the Metalektro collective labour agreement and offer an excellent package of employment conditions, including:
